Crécerelle

Les crécerelles sont des rapaces, qui avec les faucons forment le genre Falco. On les distingue le plus facilement par leur manière typique de chasser qui est de planer à une hauteur de 10-20 m au-dessus de champs ouverts et de piquer sur leurs proies. Celles-ci sont généralement des petits mammifères, des lézards ou de gros insectes. Les autres faucons sont plus adaptés à une chasse plus active. Leur nom leur vient de leur cri qui rappelle le son de la crécelle.
